Blue Day For Men In Blue

India thrased out of the T20 world cup.It was as expected as the team never looked like the defending champions. It lacked the zeal and passion which was there in 2007.The skipper MS Dhoni, regarded as the thinking captain ,his strategical changes didnt turned out right and ended as a Blunder.Too much tinkering cost a lot to Dhoni and to the team.Bowling changes were not apt as in the last match RP Singh bowled superbly but still the pen ultimate over was given to out-of-form Zaheer Khan.Zaheer Khan never looked like the spearhead bowler,Ishant sharma dissapointed too.Bhajji and Ojha did quite well. Its not worth mentioning Irfan coz he is batsman now so cant blame on his bowling. But overall Indian bowling attack lacked class and passion. The part time bowlers like Yousuf Pathan and Jadeja performed better than the main bowlers.I have seen that Indian pace bowlers donot capitalize the one bouncer per over rule.Gary and Venky must give a brood on this.
In the batting side, the top order didnt provide a stable start to the team,ya we definitely missed Sehwag. And it looked that Gautam only plays well with Sehwag he was bit lucky that most of the times his miscued shots landed safely.Raina looked uncomfortable against short balls sometimes he gave the glimpse of Ganguly;).Rohit Sharma I dont know what he is doing in the team and I dont know why Indian selectors rely so much on him I never liked him and as an opener he was awful.Yuvraj was in the blistering form it seemed that the whole team revolved round him,but lastly he failed to provide. The thinking Dhoni who tries to play the part of Inning Builder but never succeds, people were sighing in lament when came to bat.He never looked like the Dhoni of the early 2000 when he was renowned for his hitting.Apart from individual deforms there were strategical faults too, batting order management was very poor,it was a complete blunder to send Jadeja before Yuvraj and Yousuf,I didnt mention Dhoni here because it wouldnt have made any difference if he would have come at number four. The top order was struggling and never looked comfortable against the short pitched balls. The English bowlers following the West Indies policy exploited this debility to the fullest.
Lastly in the side in which India is always poor, the commentators said almost 100 times that India has two or three very good fielders but overall indian fielding is below average. It was strange to see Yuvraj Singh, India's one of the best fielder was struggling in the field. He dropped simple catch in the match against bangladesh and miss fielded a lot in the previous match.
PS : I think this knock out was required for the Indian team, actly they deserved it.It will bring them down from the illusion of the second best team and they will again endeavor to be the best.Gary and MS the thinktanks have to do a lot of homework and being Indian supporter I hope that India will do better in rest of the season......
